About Dan Nanakin
I’m from the Chief Joseph band of Nez Perce here on the colville tribe in washington state. I have been working with youth and at risk communities for over 18 years . As a front line water protector I served at standing rock for 7 months during the heat of the stand and a part of all major actions. Since then I have traveled across the country volunteering my time educating schools, colleges, festivals and community events to keep a message alive “water is life” and build bridges of unity! I most recently have begun a warrior camp as part of the return to food sovereignty and self resiliency. My hope is to bring our primal skills , native culture and our sacred teachings to the world in hopes we become more self resilient but more important become more responsible stewards of the land . We are all connected.
